I have students attending my online classes from China. Will there be any issues communicating with them?

China blocks access to Google services using their firewall so students physically located in China cannot access their Brenau email. We currently are planning to forward all emails sent to China students to their personal email address to circumvent this problem. In addition, we ask that instructors communicate with their students in China via Canvas messaging as opposed to email whenever possible. Please keep in mind that any videos posted to YouTube will not be available to your students in China. Using Microsoft OneDrive to host the videos is an alternative that seems to work for now. We would encourage you to contact the helpdesk (helpdesk@brenau.edu or 770-538-4774) to determine alternatives for these students. In general, anything using the Microsoft 365 family of products should work fine. Instructors and students can access that platform at https://office.com.
