First, we must warn you that our experience shows that more than 80% of all "generic" accounts created are eventually abandoned - usually because people forget to transfer responsibility. When this happens, it can be very detrimental to your cause since anyone emailing those addresses will never receive a response. Because of this - we highly discourage you from using these types of addresses. As a safeguard, we require all generic, shared account requests to be approved/sponsored by a Brenau Vice President. If you are determined to have a generic account, we will need to create the account and then "delegate" access to the account to at least one individual. That person can then access the account at will using the "Delegated mail" option in the Gmail interface. (see image below)
To proceed with your request - please fill out the request form at this URL:
https://brenau.formstack.com/forms/generic_email_account_requestPlease note:Password sharing violates several security rules imposed on us by the federal government in the GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) and NIST 800-171 (Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Information Systems and Organizations). While we can establish generic accounts using a process called account delegation (described above), we cannot share the password of that account with any individual or group of individuals without a policy violation. Please do not ask for the account password.
