Many of Lenovo's ThinkPads may emit at BIOS like "Beep" when three keyboard keys are pressed simultaneously or in rapid succession. This does not appear to have any effect on the function or use of the laptop, but can be annoying to the user. This problem is most notable for quick typists, who may hit any of the three keys in rapid sequence that cause the beeping sound. The keys commonly associated with the beeping are 4, 5, 6, 7, r, t, y, u, f, g, h, j, v, b, n, m. The solution to the problem is below as is the link to where the answer was found.

1. Go to Device Manager … Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager

2. (the trick !!) Show Hidden Devices. (Look in the menu … View -> Show hidden devices).

3. In the “Non-Plug and Play Drivers” section, you will find a “Beep” driver … double click on it to open the properties – then click on the “Driver” tab in the properties dialog.

4. Click on the “Stop” button to turn it off now, and set the Startup Type to “Disabled” to prevent it starting again.
